The Greene County girls basketball season culminated in Story City Feb.19. The Rams fell to third-ranked Roland-Story 55-30, ending the season with a 3-20 record while R-S advanced to the Class 3A Region 3 title game with a 19-3 mark.
The Rams fell to the Norsemen twice earlier in the season by scores of 76-11 and 70-9. Even though the game wasn’t close, it was a much better showing by Greene County.
Roland-Story led 30-12 at halftime and were up 33-18 early in the second half. R-S put the game away with a 14-0 run. The Norsemen had 15 turnovers and played all 14 players.
Sophomore Brianna Habben had 12 points for the Rams with junior Sadie Wilson adding 10. Senior Izzy Bravard sank eight freethrows. No other Greene County player scored. The Rams had 29 turnovers.
